Banking made personal.

Why should you bank with Washington Federal when other banks are bigger and have branches scattered across Chicagoland? We ask ourselves this question on a regular basis and, to us, the answer is really quite simple.

For more than 100 years, Washington Federal has provided Chicagoans with competitive checking, savings and lending products designed to help manage their money, make the most out of their hard-earned dollar and achieve their personal and business goals along the way.

My grandfather opened the doors of our bank in the community of Bridgeport in 1913 with one simple objective – to offer all the services the big banks had, while making banking as personal as it could be. He wanted to help people save money to purchase their first home, send their kids to college, launch a small business or simply save for a rainy day.

Times have changed a lot since 1913, and we have embraced many of these changes as we have grown our business through the years. But, we think it is nice to know that some things still stay the same, like our commitment to making banking personal, particularly in today’s increasingly complex world. This is what makes us different, and we believe it is why our customers chose to bank with us.

We know that many banks have more branches than we do, but few, if any, can offer the legacy of service to the community and to our customers that we can. It is how my grandfather began in the banking business 100 years ago, and it is how we continue to operate today.

On behalf of all the employees of Washington Federal, I invite you to come see for yourself what Banking made personal is about. We look forward to serving you soon.
